Two ex-Libyan officials, who had been arrested in Egypt, arrived onboard a small plane in Tripoli on Tuesday after extradition.Ali Mohamed al-Amin Maria, former Libyan ambassador to Egypt and Mohamed Ibrahim Mansour, who headed Libya's state fund, were sent to a political prison in downtown Tripoli, the prison administration said.The two officials under Muammar Gaddafi's regime, as well as former coordinator of Libyan-Egyptian relations Ahmed Gaddaf al- Dam, were arrested a week ago in Cairo at the request of the Libyan Interpol over corruption charges.Egyptian prosecution said they have not received papers requesting al-Dam's extradition yet.On Saturday, Egypt and Libya signed a legal and judicial memorandum of understanding to guarantee fair trial for extradited defendants.Under the memo, extradited defendants must be tried in ordinary courts in line with international norms and conditions, including the right to defense during interrogations and trials.
