
Sixteen people sought medical help following an explosion at a food store in downtown Makhachkala, the republic’s press service of the interior ministry told itar-Tass on Monday. “Sixteen people addressed for medical aid, and two of them were taken to hospital,” the source said. “The blast occurred at a round-the-clock food store at the corner of Kostrov and Yaragsky Streets,” the police’s spokesman said. the explosion in the store emerged a fire, which was extinguished soon. Sappers managed to defuse other two explosives, installed by Kristall grocery in Makhachkala. Recent acts of terror in Dagestan On August 3, unknown killed the imam of one of the mosques in Makhachkala. On August 1, in Khasavyurt settlement the police found three self-made blasters 1.5 kg in TNT equivalent each, as well as guns and ammunition in the house of a man that was hiding after shooting attack on police officers. On July 30, Federal Security Service of Russia prevented a series of terror acts in Dagestan. The bombs were made of four 5-liter paint cans and two metal tubes stuffed with explosive and strike elements fitted with a complex fuse mechanism. The bombs were deactivated. On July 25, in Derbent the attackers made an attempt on local rabbi. He was rushed to hospital with fire wounds.
