Facebook admin arrested for ‘insulting’ women - security source

Security bodies at Giza Security Directorate arrested a Facebook page administrator, who said on a popular television talk show that women, especially from Upper Egypt, have a tendency to cheat on their husbands, said a high-level security source.

Earlier, the public prosecutor issued an arrest warrant for Taimor el Sobky, the Facebook administrator of "Diary of a suffering man" on the backdrop of complaints that were lodged by hundreds of Egyptians. 

In an exclusive interview to MENA Thursday, the source said that security bodies arrested Sobky at one of checkpoints in Sudan Street. 

Sobky was referred to the Public Prosecution for investigations, added the source.

The interview was aired last December on the Momken (Possible) program, broadcast by the privately owned CBC channel, but it did not get much attention until a clip of it was posted on social media, drawing huge public criticism and anger.
