Fahmi meets South Korean parliament speaker

Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmi met during his current visit to South Koirea with the Parliament Speaker and a number of prominent parliament members there. Fahmi's talks with South Korean officials covered ways to enhance relations between Egypt and South Korea in the various fields particularly in the investment, industry and trade ones, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Badr Abdel-Aati said in statements here on Tuesday. Fahmi reviewed the importance of the role played by the private sector in pushing forward economic and trade cooperation, he added. The Parliament Speaker stressed the South Korean companies' concern with carrying out investments in Egypt and increasing the number of South Korean tourists after lifting a travel ban against Egypt, the spokesman said. The speaker also praised Egypt's steps taken so far on implementing the roadmap and the referendum on the constitution which is set to be held soon, he added. The meeting also covered the Syrian crisis and preparations for holding the Geneva II conference in this respect as well as the Palestinian-Israeli talks and the need to create a nuclear-free Middle East, he pointed out.
