Interior Minister Marwan Charbel announced on Tuesday that a team from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will raise a detailed report to the Lebanese authorities regarding its mission of investigating the assassination of Brigadier General Wissam Al-Hassan, the chief of the intelligence apparatus of the Internal Security Force. In a press statement, Charbel said that the FBI team will take enough time in analyzing the information obtained in order to submit a detailed report of the results, "which we will receive later." He added that the team left back to the United States after it had finished its task assigned to it in coordination with the Lebanese judicial authorities. In addition, Charbel expressed his full rejection of interfering with any detail related to the task of the FBI team, noting it was carried in "the best conditions, according to the Council of Ministers' decision, which approved benefiting from the international experiences." Public Prosecutor Judge Hatem Madi stressed on Saturday that he was "setting clear limits to the FBI team" and that he selected his mission in the framework of providing technical assistance in investigating the assassination of Al-Hassan. The FBI delegation arrived last Thursday to Beirut and began investigating the crime scene in Achrafieh where the blast took place on October 19, leaving two persons dead and more than 100 others wounded, in addition to causing material damage to the area
