A Fijian soldier on peacekeeping duties in Sinai, Egypt, has died, state media reported Thursday. Land Force Commander Col. Mosese Tikoitoga told government- owned Fiji Broadcasting Corporation that the Fijian soldier died " in the last 24 hours" and the Fijian military was trying to ascertain the circumstances around the soldier's death. Tikoitoga said the military "cannot reveal the name at the moment, because families and relatives have to be informed first." "Autopsy is being carried out now in Israel, we will get the full report once that is completed. Our condolences to the family and will await the remains of our soldier to come back and will give him full military honors for the contributions not only to the RFMF (Republic of Fiji Military Forces) but also to the nation, " said Tikoitoga. There are some 600 Fijians on peacekeeping duties in Sinai.
