At a press conference on Saturday afternoon in Wadi El-Natroun, Egypt's Coptic Orthodox Church announced the final list of 5 candidates in the running to become the next pope replacing Pope Shenouda III who died in March. Two of the candidates are monks and three are priests. Candidates are Archbishop Raphael, general bishop of Central Cairo, Archbishop Tawadros, Priest Raphael Afamina, Bakhamious El-Souriani and Priest Sarafim El-Souriani. The church is expected to pick the new Pope in a special lottery ceremony on 2 December. From: Ahram Online
