FM: Comprehensive agreement on Iran's nuclear issue possible

A comprehensive agreement on Iran's nuclear issue is possible, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said on Sunday. "We can reach a deal with the P5+1 group in the talks over Iran 's nuclear program," Zarif said, adding that the West "should avoid measures which may shatter Iranians' confidence" in ongoing nuclear talks. Iran is determined to continue nuclear negotiations with world powers and meanwhile to counter any "excuse" for mounting sanction pressures against the country, he said. The senior Iranian nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi said on Sunday that expert-level nuclear talks to discuss the details of a possible comprehensive agreement on Iran's nuclear issue will be held next week. Issues like uranium enrichment, removal of sanctions against Iran and international cooperation for peaceful nuclear activities will be on the agenda of the upcoming expert-level talks, he said. After three days of intensive negotiations, EU's Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced on Thursday the timetable for the next round of Iranian nuclear talks.
