FMs of Weimar Triangle issue joint letter to EU policy chief

Foreign Ministers of the Weimar Triangle - Poland, Germany and France - sent on Friday a joint letter to EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini over EU foreign and security policy.
Polish foreign ministry said that Laurent Fabius of France, Walter Steinmeier of Germany and Grzegorz Schetyna of Poland signed the joint letter during a meeting held in the Polish town of Wroclaw.
France's Laurent Fabius said at a press conference that the letter defines some priorities for EU security policy within next few years, emphasizing that the EU needs to strengthen its defense capabilities.
Walter Steinmeier of Germany expressed hope that the proposals will receive support from other European countries.
However, the ministers did not agree to reveal more details until the recipient have acknowledged its content.
The three ministers opted to support Ukrainian reforms with funds, administrative measures and expert advice, underlining that they would approve any EU initiatives aimed at improving situation in the country.
The ministers also discussed the issues of terrorist threat and counter-terrorism measures. They announced that they would present a common position during Barcelona Summit to be held on April 13, and the Riga Summit to be held on May 23.
The Weimar Triangle was initiated by French, German and Polish foreign ministers in 1991. Its main task is to develop cooperation among the three countries.
