Foreign meddling brought terrorism to states where Daesh active-Putin

Countries where the Daesh extremist group is currently active saw no terrorism before "unacceptable" outside interference, the Sputnik cited Russian President Vladimir Putin as saying Tuesday.

"We know what is happening in the Middle East, North Africa, we know the problems associated with a terrorist organization that has arrogated to itself the right to call itself Daesh," Putin said at a BRICS meeting.

"But in the countries where it is blossoming today there was no terrorism before absolutely unacceptable outside interference had occurred, especially without UN Security Council sanctions," Putin stressed.

The Russian president added that it is necessary to correct "all that has happened over the previous years on the international arena."

Daesh is mainly operating in Iraq and Syria, having seized large territories in both countries and continuing attempts to advance further. It has also tried to launch operations in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen.
