
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Friday received calls from five counterparts, offering condolences for victims of an EgyptAir plane that crashed into the Mediterranean early Thursday.
Foreign ministers of the US, Britain, Greece, Jordan and Bahrain expressed their countries' full solidarity with Egypt after the tragic crash, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
They offered condolences and expressed sympathy with the families of the victims.
US Secretary of State and UK Foreign Secretary said their countries are willing to contribute to search operations and investigations, Abu Zeid noted.
Foreign ministers of Jordan and Bahrain stressed that Egypt is capable of overcoming the tragedy, the spokesman said.
Abu Zeid underscored that Shoukry had thanked his Greek counterpart for Athens' full cooperation in the search operations.
