France advises nationals in Turkey to be cautious

France has urged its citizens in Turkey to be on alert following a suicide attack in the city of Suruc on the borer with Syria.

A suspected female Daesh had set off an explosion near a cultural center hosting youth activists in the Turkish city, leaving 32 dead and scores injured.

The blast ripped through the center in Suruc, just a few miles from the Syrian flashpoint of Kobane - which was itself later hit in a coordinated suicide car bombing.

A statement by the French Foreign Ministry, however, did not ban travel to Turkey.

It advised nationals to stay away from places of gathering, as well as border areas with Syria and Iraq. French nationals should also stay totally away from Hatay province, the statement said.

They are particularly advised to be alert in tourist areas close to police stations, the French Foreign Ministry added.
