
French officials on Monday condemned the latest terror attacks in Lebanon and denounced efforts to create instability in that country.Presenting condolences to the victims of the Hermel bomb blast on February 1, the French government "denounced this new attempt to destabilise which is now hitting Lebanon." France has given solid political backing for President Michel Sleiman as President for a consensus government he is seeking to put together.But France said it has not received currently a request for material from Lebanon, but underlined the two nations have a tradition of "strong cooperation in the area of security," the Foreign Ministry said. France urged Beirut to continue to fight against terrorism in all its forms and France did not rule out giving Lebanon assistance in that area.Paris urged Beirut to continue its policy of "dissociation" from the Syrian conflict as was agreed by the Lebanese parties in June 2010.
