France today welcomed the resolution overwhelmingly adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in favor of an Arab-drafted version that condemns the Syrian government for the violent actions it has taken over the past 17 months and asks authorities to comply with a six-point peace plan devised by U.N.-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan. France's Foreign Minister Loran Fabius said the resolution reiterates the world community's resolve to find a way to end the crisis in Syria promptly. He confirmed that the world community denounces the flagrant and systematic violations of human rights in Syria as well as the use of weapons of war against its people.
