
French government has decided to delay negotiations on a new draft immigration law in parliament. A draft law on immigration prepared by the Interior Ministry, originally scheduled for September will be introduced to parliamentary debate in 2014. Draft law provides important changes especially in the right to asylum. Interior Minister Manuel Valls met with asylum stakeholders on Monday. New immigration law consists some facilities about their residence in France. Immigrants will receive longer residence permits and every year this process will be simplified. France is the second country which receives asylum applications in Europe the most. Since 2007, France recorded a significant rise in asylum applications, which totaled 61,000 in 2012.
