The French National Assembly (parliament) offered condolences Friday over the demise of Egypt's chief prosecutor Hesham Barakat and Egyptian servicemen who were killed in North Sinai.
Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Elisabeth Guigou mourned them during a phone call with Egyptian Ambassador to France Ehab Badawy.
She condemned the assassination of the chief prosecutor and the soldiers, expressing support for the government and the people in the fight against terror.
Barakat breathed his last in a terrorist attack that targeted his motorcade on Monday.
Also, up to 17 Egyptian soldiers were killed when terrorist groups targeted them in North Sinai.
