
Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, has stressed the importance of activities pursued by the Emirate of Sharjah in the upgrading of mechanisms of government communication and the initiatives that have emerged from the Sharjah Media Centre in the way of development aimed at building a distinct system of government communication locally, regionally and internationally. This came during the visit of Dr. Gargash to the Sharjah Media Centre, in the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Centre. Dr. Gargash was briefed on the plans and programmes of the centre and its developmental goals, besides the preparations for the launch of the third session of the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) to be held in February, as well as details of the programme of the Forum, and the participating speakers at the event. The Chairman of the centre stressed the importance of Dr. Gargash's visit in supporting the programmes and objectives of the centre, which comes within the vision of the United Arab Emirates and complements the strategy of the federal government regarding government communication in the U.A.E. During the visit, they discussed the strategy of government communication in the Emirate of Sharjah and the main recommendations emanating from the International Forum of Government Communication that have been implemented. The minister praised the development initiatives of Sharjah Media Centre and its role in bringing global best practices in government communication that benefit all concerned bodies in this sector from within and outside the U.A.E., pointing out the vital role played by the centre in coordinating between the federal government and departments in Sharjah and media institutions. Dr. Gargash extended his thanks to H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on hosting initiatives that will support communication between the public and the government and to make Sharjah a global centre for the presentation of best international standard practices in government communication from around the world.
