Gas canister explodes in Avenues mall, slightly injures 7 people in Kuwait

A gas canister of a restaurant at The Avenues mall exploded Tuesday, wounding seven people, Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) announced.Deputy Commander of KFSD Colonel Khaled Al-Mekrad told KUNA firefighters from two nearby fire centers have rushed to the scene and managed to put out the fire.He pointed out that the injured, all are restaurant employees, were taken to hospitals for treatment.Al-Mekrad said that the explosion was the result of gas leakage from one canister at the kitchen of the restaurant. He noted that the blast caused material damage to the restaurant in addition to the seven injuries its staff.He added a comprehensive probe was launched to identify the circumstances of the incident.
