The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Abulatif Al-Zayyani is due to arrive in Sanaa next Sunday for a several days’visit to Yemen for talks with senior state officials to re-evaluate the progress made so far for implementation of the gulf initiative , a yemeni government source said here Thursday. Al-Zayyani will also get acquainted with the arrangements made for convening the national dialogue conference and the role of the GCC general secretariat in supporting yemen’s efforts in the transitional period. The source further said that the GCC chief will also discuss efforts to activate the office of the formal representation of the GCC in Sanaa and discuss the details of the gulf pledges adopted during the Riyadh and the Friends of Yemen conferences held in New York recently.
