
Egyptian Chief of Staff Lt. General Mahmoud Hegazy met on Sunday with a delegation of the US House of Representatives, now visiting here.
They discussed the latest developments in the region and efforts exerted at the regional and international levels to eradicate terrorism.
The two sides tackled also issues of mutual concern under the high-level security cooperation binding the two countries.
The US delegation praised the role played by Egypt to maintain the Middle East security and stability.
The US congressmen reiterated their country's support for Egypt in its war against terrorism, and its willingness to bolster ties with Cairo in all fields.
Hegazy said Egypt is keen on booting relations with the US in the military and security domains in a manner that serves the Egyptian and American people.
