Georgian PM to hold talks with NATO, EU leaders in January

Georgian Prime Minister Irakly Garibashvili will hold talks with the leaders of NATO and the European Union in Brussels in January and also take part in the World Economic Forum in Davos. Garibashvili disclosed his plans himself in an interview on the Rustavi-2 television channel late Friday evening. He said that also in January he would pay what he described as an important visit to Israel. “Georgian-Israeli relations are getting deeper and wider,” he said. Garibashvili declared that in the first half of 2014 he would make a trip to the United States. “Preparations for it are currently underway,” he said. The date of his visit to Washington would be declared in January. Garibashvili, 31, was endorsed by parliament as Georgia’s prime minister on November 20. Earlier, he was taking the post of Georgia’s Interior Minister for twelve months. His first foreign visit in the capacity of prime minister was to Azerbaijan last earlier this month.
