German President Christian Wulff started Sunday a six-day official visit to Japan on the occasion of the 150th year of Japan and Germany's birth of diplomatic relations. During the visit, the German President will hold talks with Emperor Akihito of Japan on bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them. The German President will also visit the areas hit by the devastating earthquake and tsunami that rocked Japan about seven month ago ad caused the Fukushima nuclear plant disaster. President Wulff will open Asia s first guesthouse for German artists in residence in the Villa Kamogawa in Kyoto City, before he concludes his visit next Friday. Wulff is accompanied by an economic delegation consists of representatives of German companies working the environmental technologies and energy fields.
