German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle will meet his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov here on Wednesday to discuss a host of international issues foremost the Syrian conflict. Following the talks the two ministers will co-sponsor the inauguration of the German-Russian house for science and culture, a joint cultural project sponsored by Goethe Institute, the Foreign Office said in a statement on Tuesday. They will take part in the celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of the Berlin-based German-Russian dialogue forum. Local media reported yesterday that Lavrov's visit to Germany will focus on the Syrian crisis and the recent Russian-US efforts for holding an international conference on Syria in Geneva.
