Eight Turkish victims of an apartment fire in Germany were laid to rest in Turkey's western province of Afyonkarahisar. Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag and Forestry & Water Works Minister Veysel Eroglu attended the funeral ceremony which took place after the noon prayer at Kocatepe Cemetery. Seven children -between the ages of 6 months and 17 years- and their mother lost their lives in a fire which broke out in their house in a three-storey building in Backnang city of Germany on Sunday. Their bodies were found at the second floor of the building. Nazli Ozcan Soykan (40), Hatice (17), Yilmaz (14), Abdulkadir (8), Izzet (7), Yasin (6), Ahmet (3), and Murat (6 months) were the victims of the fire. An investigation is still underway to determine what might have caused the fatal fire.
