State Minister For Foreign Affairs Ghanim bin Fadhl Al Buainin stressed that Bahrain's support to the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) stems from its belief in the varied capabilities of the Asian Continent and the benefits that can be drawn from joint work. Addressing the 11th ministerial meeting of ACD, which convened today in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, he said there is a wealth of experiences and expertise in Asia which could be taken advantage of by boosting cooperation in mapping out strategies and contributing to their implementation to reduce poverty and ensure sustainable development. He stressed Bahrain's efforts to adopt cutting-edge technologies in providing government services, through the e-government initiative, in order to save time and streamline procedures. He underscored the importance of institutional development of the ACD group so as to ensure maximum cooperation among the member states, praising Kuwait's initiative in this regard. He asserted, in this respect, the importance of dialogue among all social components to ensure sustainable and comprehensive development, praising the national dialogue launched by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He called on the ACD member states to back the national initiatives calling for dialogue in Bahrain due to their tremendous significance. He also hailed a blueprint to boost cooperation in the energy field, which was included in the communique of the first conference, in Kuwait, describing the roadmap as a solid background to bolster cooperation among ACD member states in the energy field. Dushanbe's concluding communique on sustainable development in the 32 member states was approved at the meeting. It is to note that Bahrain will host the 12th ministerial meeting next November.
