
Giza Governor Khalid Zakaria participated in the death anniversary of General San Martín, the Argentine general who led the southern part of South America's struggle for independence from the Spanish Empire.
The memorial celebration for San Martin (1778 – 1850)
was held at the Argentinian Embassy in Cairo.
Zakaria and ambassadors of Argentina, Poland, Colombia, Ecuador and Guatemala along with charges d'affaires of Panama, Cuba, Chile, Mexico and Venezuela laid a wreath on the General's statue in the neighborhood of Dokki.
The Argentinian ambassador described the heroic figure as liberator of America who contributed to establishing stable states.
