The head of the Egyptian bourse stressed on Sunday that the global economy growth is now moving from the Asian continent to the African one, calling on the Egyptian private and state-owned sectors to benefit from investment opportunities in the continent before it is too late.
Africa has become an investment destination and many major companies from China, the US and European states are seeking to invest in the continent, Mohamed Umran said in statements to MENA on the sidelines of the Africa 2016 Forum that kicked off here on Saturday.
Egyptian investment companies and banks have big opportunities to invest in Africa through setting up infrastructure funds there, he said.
Egyptian private and state-owned companies should start taking serious steps to invest in Africa, which now represents the future of investments in the world, Umran said.
Heads of state, ministers, business leaders, policymakers, investment promotion agencies and development partners are attending Africa 2016, the biggest regional business and investment forum taking place in Sharm El Sheikh.
