In line with the directives of the Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, and Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Muharraq Governorate formed a field team to account the buildings where expat workers live amid residential neighbourhoods, out of the governorate’s preventive role in eliminating danger before it occurs. This danger can be the fire in buildings for Asian single workers, where safety measures are neglected, particularly related to civil defence, and public health, then lift up a report thereon to the Minister of Interior. The Governor also stressed that the governorate has prepared a special file and submitted it to the Minister on the needs of Muharraq Governorate with all its villages of the services and development projects related to the state ministries and government institutions, including public projects, infrastructure, and a variety of facilities. In regard of the sports concern, the governorate out of its belief in the importance of youth with their two genders, and their role in serving their homeland, and out of being the pillar of future and its renaissance, it has met with the youth clubs and centers to be informed about their needs and views, which develop the sports action to its highest levels in accordance with advanced scientific studies. Therefore, the governorate has prepared an integrated study in this regard, in line with the terms of reference of Governors, set out in provincial law, and issued by Decree No. (17) for the year 2002, amended by Law No. (28) for the year 2005, Article 8. This article stipulates that the governor is a representative of the executive power in the range of his governorate, contributes to the supervision of the implementation of the state’s public policy, and follow-up development projects plan within the governorate. This is in addition to paragraph (c) of the same article, which also stipulates caring for and encouraging religious education and educational, social, sporting, cultural, and health activities and others, as well as developing, supporting and directing them to have responsibility, spirit of cooperation, deepening the national sense, feelings of belonging, loyalty and concepts of national unity.
