The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, strongly rejected Israel's new bid to enlist the Holy Quds (Jerusalem) as the capital city of Israel, and stressed that the Palestinian nation will defend its lands and rights. In a statement on Monday, Hamas said that announcing the holy city as the Zionist regime's capital city is a new violation against the Palestinian nation and its national rights. The movement stressed that the occupied holy city will remain as the symbol of Palestine, adding that Israeli laws and bills "will not change Palestine's realities and history". Hamas also underlined that Israel's effort to name the city as its capital is doomed to failure in the face of the Palestinian nations' resistance and persistence. The Palestinian movement further called on the UN, the Arab League and the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to take immediate action to stop such aggressions and Judaization of occupied territories, including Holy Quds (Jerusalem).
