Hamdan bin Zayed receives thanks message from UNICIF

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of Red Crescent Authority (RCA), has received a thanks message from UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake, in recognition of his role in the humanitarian and charitable field, in addition to supporting international organisation's programmes and activities. This came when Sheikh Hamdan received Dr. Ibrahim Al Zik - UNICEF Representative in the Gulf Region. During the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan welcomed Al Zik and wished him success in his new mission. They also discussed joint cooperation between the RCA and UNICEF and ways to activate them in serving children and youth. Sheikh Hamdan said that the U.A.E. led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan had become one of the most important donors in the world in the field of humanitarian aid. He also expressed RCA's readiness to cooperate and coordinate with the UNICEF in its humanitarian and relief programmes, especially for children in Syria and the efforts to alleviate their health and nutrition problems, emphasising the importance of coordination among the humanitarian and international organisations to provide the best for the victims of conflicts and disasters. At the end of the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan received the UNICEF's plaque from Dr. Ibrahim Al Zik. A number of officials attended the meeting.
