High elections committee reiterates full respect of Egyptian court ruling

The High Elections Committee reiterated on Sunday its full respect for all rulings of the Supreme Constitutional Court as regards parliamentary polls.
The committee said it will prepare a new timetable for the parliamentary polls but after needed legislative amendments are finalized.
The Supreme Constitutional Court annulled earlier in the day the third article of the electoral constituencies law that defines the scope of electoral constituencies, the number of seats allocated for each constituency and the individual list.
At a meeting, the higher committee said it will resume work immediately following the issuance of legislative amendments.
Before leaving for Riyadh, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi ordered necessary amendments to laws regulating electoral process, urging the government to finalize them within one month.
