Honduras supports Egypt bid to gain non-permanent UNSC seat

Honduras has voiced support for Egypt's bid to gain a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council, given the vital role Cairo plays to maintain international peace.
Honduran Foreign Minister Arturo Corrales also underscored Egypt's important role in the region in a meeting with Ambassador Dina el Sihi Tuesday.
Sihi posted Corrales on political developments in Egypt and reasons why the parliamentary elections were delayed.
The Egyptian people are firm on achieving democracy, the diplomat stressed.
She also touched upon the outcome of the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC) and the unprecedented turnout for the event, believing this reflected confidence of the international community in the Egyptian leadership and its ability to improve the economy.
Sihi told Corrales a number of contracts have been signed with giant international companies, noting this would help achieve development, particularly in poor and marginalized areas, and would create more jobs for youth.
The meeting also tackled means of boosting bilateral relations, especially at the trade and economic levels.
