Human Rights commission launches first training program on the mechanisms of United Nations

President of the Human Rights Commission Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Al-Aiban said the signing of a memorandum with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights was based on a desire by the Government of the Kingdom to promote activities and programs and train Saudis in the areas of human rights based on the positive results of the mutual visits between the two Commissions which culminated in a meeting between Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the High Commissioner for Human Rights which confirms his commitment to spreading and promoting the culture of human rights and the development of skills of workers in this field. Dr. Al-Aiban's remarks came in a speech during the opening of the "first training program on the mechanisms of the United Nations Human Rights" which was organized in the framework of cooperation between the Kingdom and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. The event was opened today in Riyadh in the presence of about 150 trainees from governmental and private organizations who are trained by five UN experts.
