Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu renewed the organization's willingness to do any role that the Iraqi parties want to support the reconciliation among them. He called on, in a press release, all leaders to work to build genuine national reconciliation between all the sons of the Iraqi people to ensure security, stability and unity of Iraq, expressing deep concern over the deteriorating security situation and the continuing political crisis in Iraq. Ihsanoglu stressed "the need for the Iraqi government to do its duties in maintaining security and stability in all parts of Iraq, appealing to all political and religious leaders in Iraq to join forces to stop the escalating violence in the country.
