Independent Christian MPs and personalities maintained that the dangerous situation in Lebanon and the region required to immunize the internal scene and to revive the work of the constitutional institutions to fill the current vacuum. "It is deplorable to see the impossibility to form a new government because of tense positions and conditions imposed by some political camps," they said in a statement following their meeting Friday at the office of Deputy Boutros Harb. Conferees exhorted the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister designate to form the Cabinet in the nearest time possible. They also called President Michel Sleiman, who's bound for the UN soon, to seek to obtain the support of the international community so as to consecrate Lebanon's neutrality.
