Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh Wednesday assured new President of Maldives continued support and co-operation, according to an official Press Information Bureau report. In a letter felicitating Maldives President Dr Mohamed Waheed, Dr. Singh conveyed India''s continued support the Maldivian people and co-operation with the Government of Maldives. "India will, as always, continue to support the Maldivian people''s efforts to build a stable, peaceful and prosperous country," Dr. Singh wrote in his letter to Dr Waheed. "Our two countries share a common destiny and have common security interests, India is committed to working with you and the Government in Maldives to further enhance our close, bilateral cooperation to mutual benefit and for the continued security, progress and prosperity of our two countries."
