India has condemned the terrorist attack that targeted the Italian Consulate in Cairo Saturday.
The attack killed one and wounded 10 others.
In a statement Monday, the Indian Embassy in Cairo said New Delhi stands by the side of the Egyptian people in such critical times.
It called for unifying international efforts to eliminate terrorism and extremism.
The statement also recalled a number of fierce terrorist attacks in India. For that reason India backs efforts exerted to restore peace and stability in the region, the statement noted.
