Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said he and visiting Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi have agreed to act to enhance bilateral relations.
"Sisi and I held extensive discussions on the shape and substance of our partnership. We have agreed to build on multiple pillars of our relationship," he told a joint press conference following a meeting with the Egyptian president.
According to Modi, Egypt is a natural bridge between Asia and Africa. He said that both their governments agreed to further their defense and security engagement which would aim at greater information and operational exchanges to combat terrorism.
“The growing radicalization and terror pose a threat not only to India and Egypt but to the world as well,” said PM Modi.
