Indian police arrested on Saturday senior Hurriyat leader and chairman of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Democratic Freedom Party Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Radio Pakistan reported.
According to reports, Shah was taken into custody by the police from the New Delhi airport soon after his arrival in the Indian capital to meet Prime Minister’s Advisor on Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, The Express Tribune reported.
The Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi had invited Hurriyat leaders to a reception in honour of Aziz on Monday.
Further, the Indian police have also arrested Hurriyat leaders Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Syed Bashir Andrabi and Mir Hafeezullah in Srinagar.
