Indian police identify 3 Mumbai blasts suspects

Indian police have identified three suspects in Wednesday's bombing attacks in Mumbai through a closed circuit TV footage in the opera house area of the city, which was hit by one of three bombs, reported the local daily the hindustan times on Friday. the footage showed three persons moving around in the area for an hour, said the report. the three walked about separately and gave no indication of knowing each other, the report quoted an unidentified investigator as saying. "they looked out of place," the officer said, adding that they were seen using mobile phones. the report also said security agencies have been aware of the presence of some Indian Mudjahideen (IM) operatives in Mumbai for the last one month. the IM is a home-grown militant group which held responsible for a number of other terrorist attacks in India over the past several years. security agencies were also trying to identify the motive for Wednesday's blasts, which could have been in retaliation for the arrest of 10 IM operatives from the central Indian state of madhya pradesh in June. indian PM vows to bring perpetrators of Mumbai serial blasts to book indian prime minister manmohan singh said on Thursday the perpetrators of the serial bombing attacks in the Indian financial capital must be "pursued relentlessly". seventeen people were killed and 131 others injured in synchronized blasts that rocked the popular areas of dadar, zaveri bazar and opera house within minutes of each other Wednesday evening. a day after three blasts ripped Central and South Mumbai, U.K. bansal indian secretary (internal security) in the home ministry, said that Mumbai police are carrying out investigations on the fact that a body was recovered with wires. he said there could be a possibility that he was very near to the explosives or there could be a possibility that he was the human bomb as well. the probe into the synchronized blasts which rocked south and central Mumbai Wednesday evening may hit a stumbling block as heavy rain lashed the area, triggering fears that crucial evidence may be lost before being collected by the forensic experts. Forensic experts of Maharashtra state and central forensic laboratory Delhi reached Mumbai and were working to locate the vital clues of these blasts when the downpour started early Thursday.
