Indonesia President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono left here on Wednesday for Mongolia, on a two-day working visit. Presidential special staff for international relations Teuku Faizasyah said in a statement on Wednesday that the visit to Mongolia is expected to result in improved bilateral relations between the two nations,ANTARA News agency reported. “Indonesia will also explore business opportunities in Mongolia, which has a strategic position in Central Asia,” he added. Mongolia is rich in mineral resources that Indonesia needs in order to boosts its energy resilience. Yudhoyono will hold meetings with Mongolian President Tsakhia Elbegdorj, the country’s prime minister, Norovyn Altankhuyag, as well as House Speaker Zandaakhuu Enkhbold. The Indonesian President is also scheduled to meet Mongolian businessmen.
