
International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nassr on Saturday presided over a meeting with a World Bank delegation.
Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil, Qena Governor Abdel Hamid el Hagan and Sohag Governor Aymen Abdel Moneim also attended the meeting.
The meeting aimed to discuss preparations for “local development of Upper Egypt governorates program,” planned to be funded with 500 million dollars from the World Bank.
The program aims to enhance local economic development via attracting investment, supporting industry and fostering basic services in Qena and Sohag governorates.
The world Bank delegation is expected to visit the two governorates on Sunday and Monday to resume talks with the authorized officials.
Meanwhile, the trade minister said that the program will help provide more job opportunities via supporting investment and industrial sector in the two Upper Egypt’s governorates.
