Iran condoles with Russia on sinking of fishing trawler

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham on Thursday expressed condolences to the Russian government and nation on the death of at least 54 people in the sinking of a fishing trawler.
Afkham sympathized with the bereaved families of the victims, according to IRNA News Agency on Thursday.
A rescue mission to find survivors from the Dalniy Vostok fishing trawler, which sank in the Sea of Okhotsk off the Kamchatka Peninsula, continued through the Wednesday night. Fifty-four people are confirmed dead, while 63 were rescued from the freezing waters. Up to 132 people were confirmed to have been aboard the fishing vessel, when it sank.
Of the 132 aboard the Dalniy Vostok, 78 are Russians and 54 are other nationals, including from Myanmar, Vanuatu, Latvia and Ukraine.
