The Iranian defense ministry has equipped the country's Army Ground Force with new and modern defensive systems, a senior Army commander said Saturday. He added that the Army will test the new equipments in the upcoming drills. "The new systems produced by the defense industries (organization) have been supplied to the Ground Force and these systems will be tested in the next wargames," Fars News Agency quoted Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan as saying on Sunday. As regards the ongoing wargames in the country's Southwestern province of Khuzestan, the commander said the wargames have, so far, achieved all the specified objectives, including command and control capabilities under operational conditions. The wide-scale exercises, codenamed Khatam ol-Anbia, kicked off in Khuzestan on Saturday and will last for three days. Pourdastan had earlier said the three-day-long drills are aimed at reinvigorating command and control capabilities under operational conditions.
