An Israeli pre-emptive strike on Iran's nuclear facilities could "trigger World War III," a senior Iranian commander said Sunday. The warning echoes threats made over the last three weeks -- that Iran will destroy Israel if it launches an attack on Iran, The Jerusalem Post reported. In an interview with state-owned al-Aram TV, Brig. Gen. Amir-Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the Revolutionary Guard's aerospace division said Iran would target U.S. bases in the Middle East should Israel attack, the Post said. "One should not imagine that the countries in the region would declare neutrality if a war breaks out," he added, Iran's Press TV reported. Also Sunday Deputy Commander Gen. Hussein Salami said, ""If the Zionists really do strike Iran, it would provide a historic opportunity for the Islamic Revolution to wipe (Israel) off the face of the Earth," with Iran reclaiming "the lands occupied by Israel for the Palestinians," Sepah News, the Guard's official news site, reported.
