A senior Iranian Armed Forces official revealed on Saturday that Iranian commanders have received a mandate to give a rapid and crushing response to any enemy threats, FARS News reported. Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazzayeri downplayed the recent US-Israeli war rhetoric against Iran, and stated, "Our commanders have the mandate to give swift response to any kind of hostile enemy action to take the thinking power away from aggressors." "The era of intimidation and threat and the childish game of carrot and stick (policy) is over and if the expansionist regimes and hegemonic states fail to have a correct understanding of the world and the region's current conditions, they will face many and unprecedented problems," Jazzayeri noted. The Iranian commander's remarks came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said recently that Iran is getting close to passing an Israeli "red line" marking that point. Meantime, US President Barack Obama said diplomacy would yield "a more lasting solution," but reiterated his determination to prevent Iran from what he called as developing a nuclear bomb. Last month, Commander of the Iranian Army Major General Ataollah Salehi also underlined that the country's Armed Forces will give a swift and crushing response to any possible enemy threat and aggression. Iran's Army will not linger a moment to preserve the integrity and honor of the precious achievements of the Islamic Revolution, the commander underlined. (MENA
