Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has hailed Hezbollah’s resistance against Israel, which has ‘annihilated the Tel Aviv’s regime’s delusions of grandeur. The liberation of southern Lebanon by the resistance movement “laid the groundwork for the great victory of the Lebanese nation in the 33-day war with Israel as well as Muslims’ awakening aimed at standing up for their legitimate rights and fighting against oppression, hegemony and occupation,” President Ahmadinejad said in a message to Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah on Wednesday. The message was submitted by Iran's Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi on the 12th anniversary of the Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon on May 25, 2000. In the message, Ahmadinejad congratulated Hezbollah and the Lebanese government and nation on the event and said, “The crushing of the Zionist regime’s (Israel) delusions of grandeur by the brave men of resistance rocked the foundations of occupation, aggression and oppression across the world and brought the glad tidings of the ultimate victory of right against wrong." In a separate message, Ahmadinejad also congratulated his Lebanese counterpart Michel Suleiman on the event. The epic liberation of southern Lebanon is the reminder of the sacrifice, resistance and resolve of the Lebanese nation who has been seeking dignity, honor and independence in pursuit of justice, sustainable peace and destruction of oppression for all human beings, part of Iranian president’s message said.
