
Iran's Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Mohammad-Hossein Baqeri and Pakistan's Adviser to Prime Minister on National Security Nasir Khan Janjua underlined promotion of military and defensive cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad.
During the meeting, Baqeri said that giving a boost to defensive and military cooperation between the two neighbors is necessary for establishment of sustainable peace and security in the region, according to Iran's (IRNA) News Agency.
He called for joint measures to strengthen security in the border areas.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's adviser to prime minister on national security welcomed enhancement of defensive, military and security cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad.
He called for joint action against terrorists and other destabilizing factors in the region.
The Pakistani official arrived in Tehran Sunday evening to discuss security issues with Iranian officials.
