Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi condemned a recent car bomb attack in the Lebanese capital of Beirut, which left dozens of people wounded, Press TV reported on Wednesday. In a telephone conversation with his Lebanese counterpart Adnan Mansour on Tuesday, Salehi denounced the terrorist attack and sympathized with the families of the victims. The Iranian foreign minister said the attack had targeted Lebanon's security, stability and national unity, expressing hope that the Lebanese authorities would take the necessary precautions in the face of the plots hatched by the country's enemies, according to the report. On Tuesday, a booby-trapped vehicle went off in the parking lot near the Islamic Cooperation Center in Bir al-Abed, a shopping center in an area controlled by the Lebanese Shiite militant party of Hezbollah in southern Beirut, leaving at least 53 people injured.
