Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary and chief nuclear negotiator of Iran Saeed Jalili condemned the attack in Reyhanli town of Turkey and added "we see Turkey's safety as our safety". Jalili, in a press meeting in the Iranian Consulate General in Istanbul, thanked Turkey for coordinating his meeting with Catherine Ashton, the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. For the attack in Reyhanli town of Turkey, Jalili indicated that "countries in this region should combine their capacities to establish a bigger power. This is both official thought of Iran and public opinion". Iran's uranium enrichment must be officially recognized Iran's chief nuclear negotiator said "We are ready for collaboration within the framework of nonproliferation treaty as long as Iran's right for uranium enrichment are officially recognized. Reminding that Iran came together with P5+1 group many times, Jalili noted that the meeting held last night was for the purpose of responding Iran's offer. Implying P5+1 countries, Jalili stated that every nation has a right to profit from energy with peaceful way. "There are a few nations who deny this right. But, they do not have enough power to restrain a right such as this." Jalili added "they use the word of "international society" but these 4-5 nations are not international society". In response to a question, Jalili said "our policy toward Syria is obvious. We condemned all kind of violence. We said that the only way for Syria is democracy and the future of Syria should be determined by Syrian people with peaceful meetings".
